# PCB Layout Project — Dual Loop Board ## Summary We need a 4-layer PCB laid out from scratch in **OrCAD PCB Editor / Allegro**, starting from a completed OrCAD Capture schematic. we're gauging interest, timeline, and pricing from freelancers who could take this on independently if needed. ## What you'll receive - Complete OrCAD Capture schematic (11 sheets: Connectors, Isolated Processor, Iso Low Voltage, LEDs, Loop 1 Modulator, Loop 1 Output, Loop 2 Modulator, Loop 2 Output, Primary Power, Un-Isolated Processor, plus a root/hierarchy sheet), Revision F. - Bill of materials. - Reference dimensions for the existing board outline (~236mm x 64mm) — mechanical constraints (mounting holes, connector positions, enclosure fit) to be confirmed with us before final placement is locked. ## Known schematic issues you'll need to resolve or work around The schematic currently has some incomplete library data carried over from an older design revision. Whoever takes this on will need to: 1. **Assign PCB footprints** — a large number of passive/discrete parts (resistors, capacitors, diodes, test points, connectors — roughly 500+ instances) are missing the `PCB Footprint` property. Most are standard SMD/THT parts (0402/0603/SOT-23/etc.) so footprint assignment should be straightforward once package sizes are confirmed from the BOM. 2. **Fix two library part definitions**: the MOSFET package `PSMN069-100YS` and the diode package `BZX84C` have several pins with missing pin-number assignments in their symbol/footprint definitions. These need correcting in the library before a clean netlist can be extracted. 3. A custom parts library ("Kentec") used by the original design is not included — footprints for the affected discrete parts will need to be sourced or built from datasheets. ## Critical design requirement — read carefully **This is an isolated dual-loop monitoring/control board.** Loop 1 and Loop 2 are two independent, redundant signal/power channels (`SLOOP1±`, `PLOOP1±`, `SLOOP2±`, `PLOOP2±` nets) that **must remain electrically and physically separated** — no copper from Loop 1 should run adjacent to or cross Loop 2 without proper clearance, and the isolated-processor section must maintain appropriate creepage/clearance from the non-isolated section per the schematic's isolation barrier. Bidders should be comfortable with isolation/creepage-aware layout practices (this is a hard requirement, not a nice-to-have — a prior in-house auto-routed attempt at this board produced multiple loop-to-loop shorts that had to be manually identified and fixed). ## Deliverables - Complete, DRC-clean PCB layout (OrCAD PCB Editor / Allegro native format) with all nets routed and zero unresolved shorts. - Full compliance with the loop-isolation requirement above (we will spot-check this specifically). - Gerbers, drill files, IPC-D-356 netlist, and pick-and-place files for fabrication/assembly. - A short writeup of any placement/routing decisions or tradeoffs made, especially around the isolation boundary and any tight-clearance areas. ## Board specs - 4 copper layers (F.Cu / In1 / In2 / B.Cu equivalent in Allegro). - Mixed isolated and non-isolated sections on one board. - Board outline approx. 236mm x 64mm (to be finalized). - Material: standard **FR4** (no RF or flex requirements on this board). - Copper weight, stack-up, TG rating, and specific creepage/clearance distances: open to your recommendation based on the isolation voltage — please state your assumptions in your proposal, or ask and we'll confirm. ## What to include in your proposal - Relevant experience with isolated/multi-rail or safety-isolated board layouts. - Your estimated timeline from schematic handoff to DRC-clean gerbers. - Your proposed fixed price (or hourly rate + estimated hours) — no budget has been set, we're evaluating quotes. - Any questions about the isolation requirement, footprint gaps, or board outline before you'd be ready to start. ## Timeline Open — please propose your own based on scope. We'd like an initial quote and availability estimate before committing. I will confirm board dimensions, connector locations and any keep-out zones as soon as we start.
