Access-to-SQL-Server Migration — Experienced Developer Needed (Paid Assessment First) We run a business ERP built in Microsoft Access (front-end / back-end split, ~40 users). We are looking for an experienced developer to move the data (the Access back-end tables) onto Microsoft SQL Server, while keeping our Access forms as the user interface. The database is small (~300 MB of tables). This project is a short PAID ASSESSMENT — not the full migration. Before committing, we want you to review our system and tell us whether the migration is worthwhile, what it involves, and how many hours it would take. The full migration would be a separate engagement afterwards, only if we decide to proceed. Requirement — proven migration experience We will only consider developers who have actually completed Access-to-SQL-Server migrations. Theoretical knowledge is not enough. To apply, please answer these four questions: 1. How many Access-to-SQL-Server migrations have you completed? 2. Briefly describe one or two of them — the size, the main difficulties, and how you handled Access-specific queries and VBA code. 3. Do you have any references, portfolio, or proof of these migrations? 4. What is your hourly rate, and roughly how many hours would you need for the assessment? What we will provide for the assessment Under a signed NDA, we will send you our Access application with its full structure — tables (structure only), queries, VBA code and forms — but without real data (empty tables). Our system has grown over 20 years and contains parts we no longer use, so we will also provide a "keep / drop" list. The migration must be scoped to the useful part only. How the migration would work (if we proceed) The migration would be delivered as a package — a SQL Server backup, the re-linked Access forms, and full documentation — that our own IT installs on our server. Remote access is not required though willingness to assist our IT during installation via TeamViewer is a plus. Our current system is always kept intact as a rollback.
