I need a small workflow tweak inside our Agiloft KB. At the moment the “Update Effective Date” action runs while the record is still in View mode, so no fields can actually be changed. The goal is simple: when that button is pressed the record must flip straight into Edit mode, allowing the user to update the Effective Date – and, per our requirements, any other field in the record if they wish. Once the changes are made the save process should respect our existing “optional confirmation” setting: if the user has confirmations enabled, prompt them; if not, commit immediately. No extra pop-ups or inline editors are needed because we want the standard Edit screen to appear automatically after the button is clicked. Deliverables: • Agiloft action/transition that triggers Edit mode from the “Update Effective Date” button • Preservation of current field-level permissions and required-field validation • Brief note or screenshot set showing where the rule/script was added so we can maintain it later Please let me know if you need admin access details or a staging table to test against.
