AI Platform for Converting PDFs into Structured Question Banks Remember if your work hour is outside the desired work rate, don’t apply please!!! Project Overview We are building an AI-powered SaaS platform that converts educational content (PDFs, books, documents, manuals, etc.) into large, structured question banks that can be imported directly into mobile apps, websites, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and other educational platforms. This is not a chatbot. The platform should automatically generate hundreds or thousands of high-quality questions from uploaded documents and export them into structured files ready for developers. ⸻ Main Features 1. Upload Documents The platform should allow users to upload: * PDF * DOCX (Microsoft Word) * TXT * EPUB (eBooks) * Markdown (.md) * HTML * PowerPoint (.pptx) (optional) * Scanned PDFs (OCR support preferred) ⸻ 2. AI Question Generation The AI should be able to generate: * 100 questions * 500 questions * 1,000 questions * 2,000 questions * 5,000+ questions The AI should process the document in multiple steps/chunks so there is effectively no practical limit on the number of generated questions. Question types should include: * Multiple Choice (MCQ) * True/False * Fill in the Blank * Short Answer * Flashcards * Matching * Essay Questions (optional) Each question should include: * Question * Answer * Correct option * Explanation * Difficulty level * Category/Topic * Tags * Source page/chapter (if possible) ⸻ Export Formats The generated question bank should be exportable as: * JSON (highest priority) * CSV * Excel (.xlsx) * XML * YAML * SQLite Database (.db/.sqlite) * SQL Insert Script * Markdown (.md) * Plain Text (.txt) The exported files should be ready for import into mobile apps, websites, LMS platforms, and databases. ⸻ Quality Control The system should automatically: * Remove duplicate questions * Detect repeated answers * Ensure questions are factually based on the uploaded document * Balance question difficulty * Validate JSON structure * Allow regeneration of low-quality questions ⸻ Dashboard Users should be able to: * Upload documents * View generation progress * Preview generated questions * Edit questions * Delete questions * Search questions * Filter by category * Export in multiple formats * Save projects for future editing ⸻ Technology Preferred technologies: Backend: * Python (FastAPI preferred) * Node.js (acceptable) AI: * OpenAI * Google Gemini * Anthropic Claude * Open-source LLMs (if suitable) Database: * PostgreSQL * Supabase * MongoDB (optional) Storage: * AWS S3 * Cloudflare R2 * Supabase Storage Frontend: * React * Next.js ⸻ Deliverables The finished platform should: * Accept large educational documents * Generate thousands of structured questions * Export in multiple developer-friendly formats * Scale for SaaS usage * Be production-ready with clean, maintainable code ⸻ Ideal Freelancer Looking for an experienced AI engineer with experience in: * Large Language Models (LLMs) * Document parsing * OCR * Prompt engineering * Python or Node.js * API development * SaaS applications * Educational technology (EdTech) Please include examples of previous AI or document-processing projects in your proposal.
