I run the finance function for a banking-sector operation and I’m looking for an experienced partner who can step in with hands-on financial management consulting. The immediate focus is threefold: sharpening our budget planning and forecasting cycle, tightening monthly and quarterly financial reporting and analysis, and bringing greater discipline to expense management so we protect margin without compromising compliance. Because we operate in banking, you’ll need a working grasp of the regulatory landscape as well as the nuances of internal controls that satisfy both auditors and the business line. I already have robust data sets coming from our core systems; what I need is the expertise to translate that information into actionable forecasts, variance analyses, and cost-containment strategies that executives can rely on. Core deliverables • A forward-looking budget model (Excel or Power BI) that links drivers to outcomes and allows quick scenario testing • A concise reporting pack each month that highlights key ratios, trends, and red-flag variances, ready for board presentation • An expense-tracking framework with recommendations on thresholds, approval flows, and cost-saving opportunities backed by data Acceptance criteria • Models must reconcile to our general ledger within ±0.5 % • Dashboards load in under five seconds on standard hardware • Documentation is clear enough for an internal analyst to maintain after hand-over If you’ve helped other banks or financial institutions achieve similar rigour and transparency, let’s talk about how you can bring that expertise to my team.
