I need a small, reliable utility that can open native .bmc files and translate them into generic, well-formatted G-code my cnccov impact-engraving machine can run without edits. We already have AGAT software and CNConv software. AGAT generates .bmc and .apj files from a BMP image. CNConv controls the original Proma machine but does not export generic G-code. Your task is not to operate the software. Your task is to develop a converter that reads .bmc files and generates standard G-code compatible with Mach3, GRBL, and LinuxCNC while preserving the photo engraving. Core workflow • Read a single .bmc image, extract the tool-path information and pixel/impact data. • Let me set practical parameters—scale, origin, dot spacing, feed, and any dwell or Z-pulse commands—then generate clean G01/G00 moves plus an impact signal line that matches the machine’s post. • Export a plain .nc or .txt file that drops straight into the cnccov controller and engraves correctly from the very first test. Deliverables 1. Stand-alone converter (GUI or CLI) with installer or one-click launch. 2. Source code and clear build/run instructions. 3. A sample .bmc processed into G-code that I can verify on the machine. 4. Short user guide covering parameter meanings and a quick troubleshooting section. Acceptance criteria • The G-code runs end-to-end on my cnccov without manual edits. • No crashes or corrupt output when fed any valid .bmc file. • Conversion time under one minute for a 1 MB file on a typical laptop.
