Development of Power Apps & Dataverse System for BMS Quoting & Estimation Tool Project Overview: We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Power Platform developer to convert a complex Excel-based BMS (Building Management System) estimation spreadsheet into a secure, user-friendly, and robust Power Apps application with a Dataverse database backend. Key Requirements & Modules: 1. Dataverse Database Architecture: Relational tables for Schedule of Rates (SOR), Quotes, Quote Line Items, Labor & Material Costs, and Payment Applications/Claims. Structured data models and relational links between client profiles, projects, and quotes. Clear structure in the Dataverse for mapping I/O points, controllers, peripherals, and engineering/programming services. 2. Power Apps User Interface: Clean, intuitive step-by-step navigation wizard (Client Details → SOR Selection → Labor/Material Calculations → Summary & Margins). Visual color-coding (distinct input fields vs. locked/calculated display cards). Input validations, dropdown pickers for SOR items, and server-side calculated fields to completely prevent spreadsheet/calculation errors. Selectable checklist for standard exclusions and contract terms. Automation of cost calculations, margins, BDI, and labor hours. 3. Automated Workflows (Power Automate): One-click PDF generation for client quotes and formal payment claims with professional formatting. Detailed itemized Excel (.xlsx) export for technical auditing. Exportation of formatted commercial proposals in PDF via Power Automate. 4. Version Control: System to track the revision history of quotes within the platform. Deliverables: Fully functional Power Apps application connected to Dataverse. Configured Power Automate flows for PDF generation and Excel export. Admin documentation and testing/handover session. Ideal Candidate: Proven experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Dataverse, Power Automate). Experience creating business estimation, ERP, or quoting systems.
