I need to move an entire Cloudera CDP 7.1.9.3 Private Cloud deployment into AWS EC2 while keeping the version unchanged. This means every layer—data files in HDFS and object stores, database schemas behind Hive/Impala, user and security configurations, and all supporting services—must appear in the new EC2-based cluster exactly as they do today. Because the full environment is coming across, I expect a robust end-to-end approach: architecture review, migration sequencing, cut-over strategy, testing, and rollback plan. Although I’m still confirming which applications are truly “critical,” early signs point to our data-processing pipelines, real-time analytics components, and several machine-learning workloads needing extra care, so please build flexibility for those into the plan. I’m happy to reuse Cloudera Manager, CM blueprints, and automation (Ansible, Terraform, or similar) if that speeds things up, and I want the process to exploit native AWS services for networking, storage, and security wherever they mesh cleanly with CDP. Deliverables • Detailed migration runbook with timing, tooling, and validation steps • Infrastructure-as-code or scripts to provision the target EC2 cluster and supporting AWS resources • Data and config transfer jobs with integrity checks • Functional and performance validation report compared against the on-prem baseline • Knowledge-transfer session so my team can operate the new cluster confidently Please outline your proposed approach, relevant Cloudera-to-AWS experience, and any questions you need answered before kickoff.
