Character Pose Library for Kids' Comic Series — 3 Characters, Turnarounds + 24 Poses + 8 Expressions Each Alternates: Cartoon Character Asset Kit — Turnarounds, Poses & Expressions for a Webcomic Series Character Sheet Artist Needed — Reusable Pose Library for Ongoing Comic (Multi-Phase) FULL DESCRIPTION About the project I'm producing an ongoing vertical-scroll comic series for young readers, set at a jiu-jitsu academy run by a 140-year-old turtle. The full first season is already written (11 episodes adapted into 22 chapters), concept art exists for all five characters, and the visual style is already established. I now need the reusable art assets to build panels from. Important: I am NOT commissioning comic pages. I'm commissioning a character pose library — a kit of cut-out character assets that I will assemble into hundreds of panels myself, across many chapters and several years. Think of it as building a set of high-quality stickers rather than illustrating scenes. This changes what matters. Consistency beats flourish. Clean transparent edges beat heavy rendering. A pose that reads clearly at 300 pixels tall on a phone beats one that looks impressive at full size. Every asset will be reused dozens of times, so precision and adherence to spec are the top priorities. Scope — Phase 1: three characters A black bear (12 years old, large, gentle, tan uniform) A monkey (8 years old, small, energetic, white uniform) A turtle (very old, small, calm, black uniform) Two more characters follow in Phase 2, plus a third phase of two-character interaction poses. I'm looking for one artist to grow with rather than re-hiring each phase. Deliverables per character 1 turnaround — front, three-quarter, side, back at matched height on a shared baseline 24 body poses — full body, transparent PNG (list provided; includes standing, sitting, kneeling, lying on back, walking, jumping, celebrating, bowing, and character-specific poses) 8 head/expression files — transparent PNG, sized to attach to the bodies Layered source files — PSD, CSP or AI CRITICAL SPEC — heads and bodies must be delivered as SEPARATE files. Bodies drawn headless (or with the head on its own layer) with a consistent neck attachment point, and heads as separate files that drop onto that point cleanly. This is the core requirement of the whole project: 24 bodies plus 8 heads gives me 192 usable character states from 32 drawings. If they arrive fused, I get 24. Please confirm in your proposal that you're comfortable working this way. Technical requirements PNG with true transparency — no white halo, no baked-in shadow 2000 px tall for full bodies, consistent scale across all characters Standing poses: feet at the very bottom edge of the canvas Strict file naming (provided in the brief), e.g. nina_body_standing-neutral.png, nina_head_delighted.png Exact hex color values provided — please match them precisely What I will provide you A detailed written brief with the complete pose list per character Existing concept art for all five characters, plus one finished turnaround as a layout reference Exact hex color palettes sampled from the approved art A sample chapter script so you can see how the assets get used Everything is already specified. You'd be drawing, not guessing. Style Warm, rounded, appealing cartoon style with clean linework and flat-to-soft shading — closer to modern animated-feature warmth than to anime. Must read clearly at small sizes. Characters are children and one elderly turtle; the tone is comedic with genuine heart. Rights and credit This is a work-for-hire commission with full copyright assignment, covering commercial use, merchandising, and print publication, worldwide and in perpetuity. Please price accordingly — I understand this costs more than a personal-use license and I'm not trying to get commercial rights at personal rates. You retain full portfolio rights and will be credited as Character Artist in the published comic and in any collected print edition. Process Paid sample first — one pose plus one matching head file, at your normal rate, so we both confirm the fit Phase 1 — the three characters above, with milestone payments (deposit, sketch approval, final delivery) Phase 2 and 3 — remaining characters and interaction poses, ongoing Two rounds of revisions per character are included. To apply, please include: Portfolio links showing character work with consistent design across multiple poses (a single great illustration doesn't tell me what I need to know) Your rate per character for Phase 1 Your estimated turnaround time for three characters Confirmation you're comfortable with work-for-hire and full rights assignment Confirmation you can deliver heads and bodies as separate transparent files Whether any AI generation is part of your process (I need original artwork — asking so we're both clear up front) Proposals that don't address points 5 and 6 won't be considered — those two details determine whether the project works at all. SUGGESTED SKILL TAGS Character Design · Illustration · Cartooning · Comic Art · Character Sheet · Digital Illustration · Concept Art · Adobe Photoshop · Clip Studio Paint · Vector Illustration SCREENING QUESTIONS Have you delivered character assets as separate head and body files before? Briefly describe how you'd handle the neck attachment point. Share one link showing the same character you designed in at least four different poses. What is your process for keeping a character on-model across a large set of drawings? Are you comfortable assigning full commercial copyright, including merchandising and print? Is any part of your workflow AI-generated? BUDGET & TIMELINE FIELDS Budget type: Fixed price, milestone-based Phase 1 scope: 3 characters (turnaround + 24 poses + 8 expressions + source files each) Timeline: Flexible — quality over speed. Indicate your realistic turnaround. Ongoing: Yes, multi-phase with more work expected
