I have a clean DWG of a three-bed, two-bath residence and I need it converted into a SketchUp (.skp) model. Only the walls and structural elements should be modelled—no furniture, fixtures, or landscaping at this stage—so you can focus on accuracy and tidy geometry. Because I’m unsure which layer structure will work best, I’d like your professional advice. If multiple layers will make future edits easier, propose a logical naming system (e.g., exterior walls, interior partitions, structural beams). Otherwise, let me know why a simpler setup might suffice. Primary purpose is to visualise room layout, window layout and sun / shade mapping onto windows thoughout the year. This will determine if I need larger window awnings etc. Given the house is in the tropics, maintaining a passive cool interior is a goal. Key points • Import the DWG at true scale and maintain all dimensions. • Re-create walls, openings, and structural members cleanly, with no stray lines or reversed faces. • Deliver a fully editable .skp file compatible with SketchUp 2020 or newer. Once I review the model and layering approach, I’ll sign off or request minor tweaks for alignment or missing structure.
