I have a product that needs clear, well-structured user manuals written from the ground up. All the raw material—engineering notes, screenshots, and rough functional specs—will be at your disposal. What I’m looking for is a technical writer who can turn that information into an easy-to-follow guide that walks end users through installation, setup, everyday operation, and basic troubleshooting without overwhelming them with jargon. Scope of work • Study the source material I provide and, where details are missing, prepare short clarification questions • Write a complete user manual in plain, consistent language suitable for a non-technical audience • Include logical headings, numbered steps, callouts, and safety notices where appropriate • Suggest visuals (screenshots or simple diagrams). If you can create or annotate them yourself, even better • Deliver the document in an editable format (Word or Google Docs) plus a print-ready PDF Acceptance criteria • All procedures are covered, accurate, and tested against the supplied product build • Formatting is consistent and ready for immediate publishing—no extra cleanup required • Tone remains instructional and neutral; marketing language is avoided • The final PDF passes a quick usability check: a first-time user can complete the main task unaided by any other reference Experience with standard authoring tools (Word, Google Docs, MadCap Flare, or similar) and adherence to common style guides (Chicago, Microsoft Manual of Style) will help you hit the ground running.
