I’m launching an ambitious IT company built on the MERN stack and I need a hands-on Chief Technology Officer to steer us from day one. Your mandate spans full technical leadership and strategy, day-to-day product development oversight, and the design of a lean yet scalable infrastructure. Just as important, you’ll help me recruit and shape the core engineering team so we start with the right talent and culture. Technology innovation, team mentorship, and a clear technical roadmap are all equally vital to our success, but I’m counting on you most for the last two: guiding engineers in best practices and laying out a razor-sharp roadmap that aligns with business goals. Expect to spend considerable time pair-programming, reviewing code, fine-tuning our CI/CD pipelines, and introducing processes that keep quality high while velocity remains fast. Key deliverables in the first phase: • A 90-day technical roadmap covering architecture decisions, sprint milestones, and infrastructure requirements. • A recruitment plan specifying roles, interview process, and onboarding guidelines for the initial team. • Mentorship cadence and documentation—how you’ll level up junior and mid-level developers through code reviews, workshops, and measurable growth targets. We’re a greenfield operation, so you’ll have the freedom to select modern tooling—think TypeScript, GraphQL, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, or similar—as long as choices align with MERN fundamentals and serve our long-term vision.
