I am working on a prototype and I want to build a custom 16-channel EEG board by combining the OpenBCI Cyton and Daisy designs into one single PCB. Cyton board: https://github.com/OpenBCI/V3_Hardware_Design_Files/tree/master/OpenBCI%20Cyton%20 Designs Daisy board: https://github.com/OpenBCI/V3_Hardware_Design_Files/tree/master/OpenBCI%20Daisy%20| Designs Technical Requirements: ADC: 2x ADS1299IPAG (daisy-chained via SPI). They must share the same external clock for perfect synchronization. MCU: Replace the old RFD22301 with an ESP32 (for WiFi/BLE). Strict isolation of the ESP32's RF noise from the analog front-end is crucial (low-noise layout/shielding). Sampling Rate: Target is 250 Hz per channel, but the SPI timing, ESP32 buffering, and wireless data transmission must be robust enough to support up to 500 Hz or 1000 Hz across all 16 channels. Storage: Replace ST-TF-003A with MSD-3-A (MicroSD slot). Power: Integrate a charging circuit for a 3.7V 2000mAh LiPo (JST connector) with USB-C input for charging. Note: The board will only be used on battery power (not while charging), so we can omit galvanic isolation to save space. The USB-C input must also be wired to program the ESP32. Form Factor: Compact size, ideally around 50x50mm (max 60x50mm). USB-C and MicroSD slot should be on the same edge. Firmware: The ESP32 firmware needs to be adapted to handle 16 channels, transmit data via WiFi/BLE, and remain fully compatible with the OpenBCI GUI. Components: Please select parts currently in stock at Mouser or Digi-Key, as I will use Aisler.net for assembly. Deliverables: Full Source Files (Altium project) Manufacturing files (Gerber, BOM, Pick-and-Place) Do you have proven experience with the ADS1299 and multi-layer mixed-signal routing?
