I’m an independent author with several titles already translated and formatted for print, Kindle, EPUB, and audiobook. What I need now is a custom-built e-commerce site that lets readers buy any edition in the language of their choice, leave verified reviews, and quickly jump to my profiles on Amazon, Goodreads, and my publisher’s page to follow future releases. Core build • Bespoke storefront coded without an off-the-shelf platform, so I can scale features later and keep full control of my data. • Shopping cart with secure checkout (Stripe and PayPal to start). • Multilingual interface (initially English, Spanish, French; more to follow) that automatically surfaces the right language based on the visitor’s browser or a simple toggle. • Native user-review system tied to past purchases to keep feedback authentic. Star ratings, text, and optional photo/audio snippets should display on each product page. • Clean, responsive design that highlights cover art, sample chapters, and audio snippets. Engagement extras Each product page needs “Follow the Author” buttons that deep-link to my Amazon Author Central profile, Goodreads author page, and the publisher website, opening in new tabs so readers stay on my store. A simple pop-up asking visitors to follow after checkout would be ideal. Admin comforts I should be able to upload a new book once—then assign formats, languages, prices, and download links without duplicate data entry. Order management, coupon codes, and basic sales analytics belong in the same dashboard. Acceptance criteria 1. I can add a new title, set formats & languages, and see it live in under 10 minutes. 2. A test purchase runs end-to-end with both payment gateways and delivers the correct file or redirects to the audiobook host. 3. Switching site language updates all UI labels and product metadata. 4. Reviews cannot be submitted unless the user’s order ID is detected. 5. Lighthouse mobile performance score ≥ 90.
