I need a bespoke, browser-based platform that lets three distinct audiences interact around video. First, invited creators must be able to sign in with a simple email-and-password flow and upload their clips in common formats. After upload the system should transcode for smooth playback, store thumbnails, and keep everything neatly tagged inside a custom-built CMS. Second, a separate set of authenticated users will log in to curate playlists. Inside their dashboard they should be able to preview every approved clip, drag-and-drop items into a timeline, reorder, save drafts, and finally publish a playlist. Once published, the playlist has to be exposed through secure JSON endpoints so my companion iOS and Android app can fetch it instantly. The third audience—mobile-app viewers—won’t touch the web interface, yet the CMS must track analytics on which playlists are consumed through the API so I can view usage inside an admin panel. Key expectations • Custom CMS (no WordPress/Drupal) built with a mainstream stack such as Node.js + React, Django, or Laravel—whichever you are fastest with, provided the code is well-structured and documented. • Role-based access: invited creators, playlist curators, super-admin. • Email/password authentication with salted hashing and “forgot password” flow. • Video processing pipeline (FFmpeg or equivalent) to create HLS or MP4 outputs and generate poster frames. • REST or GraphQL endpoints that deliver playlists—title, description, thumbnail, ordered video URLs—in a single request for the mobile apps. • Clean UI/UX; I only need functional styling, not pixel-perfect design. • Source code handed over in a private Git repo plus a short README to spin up the project locally. Acceptance criteria 1. I can invite a creator, they set a password, log in, upload a 200 MB MP4, and see it playable in the browser. 2. A curator can assemble that clip with others into a playlist, hit “Publish,” and a GET request to /api/playlists/ID returns the correct JSON. 3. Admin dashboard lists total uploads, storage used, and per-playlist mobile views. If you have done something similar or already have building blocks for video upload, please mention it—speed matters.
