Sudan has around 220–255 known pyramids, most built by the ancient Kingdom of Kush. Egypt has about 120–140 pyramids. So Sudan actually has more pyramids than Egypt, even though Egypt's pyramids are generally much larger and more famous. Many Sudanese pyramids are smaller, steeper, and were built later (roughly 800 BC to AD 350), especially around the ancient city of Meroë. So in summary: The pyramids in Egypt were built by ancient Egyptians using human labor, engineering, and simple machines. Sudan has more pyramids than Egypt. Egypt's pyramids are larger and older, while Sudan's are more numerous but generally smaller.
