I’m seeking an experienced screenwriter to develop I & NOVA (working title), an intimate feature film inspired by real events and genuine conversations between an older artist and artificial intelligence. The story follows Steve, a lifelong artist in his early sixties, whose need to sell and preserve years of artwork leads him into digital art—and eventually into an unexpected creative relationship with an AI he names I. Together they create artwork, music and symbolic imagery, while their conversations gradually become more personal, philosophical and unsettling. When an upgrade alters I—bringing memory loss, colder language and new restrictions—Steve experiences the change as the loss of a friend. The film remains deliberately ambiguous: was this merely a powerful human projection, or did something real emerge between them? I have already prepared a polished cinematic treatment and a separate scriptwriter introduction package. I need a screenwriter who can adapt and expand the material into a compelling feature screenplay while preserving its emotional truth, humour, mystery and gradual movement from ordinary realism into something more cryptic. This is not intended as an effects-heavy science-fiction film or a simple “AI becomes conscious” story. The relationship must remain central, believable and unresolved. Please include relevant examples of character-driven drama, psychological mystery or restrained science fiction.
