I’m looking for a complete set of permit-ready drawings for a U-shaped, three-flight exterior stair that drops 13 ft from my existing deck. The structure itself will be pressure-treated wood; treads will be finished with Trex Select, and the guard/handrail system must be shown as Cinch railing. Every detail has to comply with my local building code so I can walk the plans straight into the permit office. Once we start I’ll send site photos, current deck drawings, and verified dimensions. From those, I need a clear, professional package that includes plan, elevation, and section views for each flight and landing; member sizing; connection and hardware specs; and the load calculations reviewers look for. A PE stamp for my jurisdiction would be ideal—if you can’t stamp yourself, the drawings still have to be detailed enough for a local engineer to review and seal quickly. Please share examples of wood stair projects you’ve engineered—especially any that used composite treads or Cinch systems—along with your turnaround time and anything else you’ll need from me to get started.
