Project Overview Develop a vehicle monitoring application that continuously watches supported online vehicle listing sources and immediately alerts users whenever a newly published vehicle matches their saved search criteria. The application is designed exclusively for vehicle listings and must prioritize speed, reliability, and accuracy. The primary objective is to notify users as close to real time as technically possible after a qualifying listing becomes available. Core Features * User account with multiple saved searches. * Customizable search filters, including: * Make * Model * Year range * Price range * Mileage * Fuel type * Transmission * Vehicle type * Location and search radius * Continuous background monitoring of supported vehicle listing sources. * Automatic detection of newly published matching vehicles. * Intelligent duplicate detection so the same listing is never alerted more than once. * Instant in-app notifications with minimal latency. * Saved listings and favourites. * Fully configurable notification preferences. Notification Requirements Speed is the highest priority. The application should detect and notify users of qualifying listings as quickly as technically possible, with notifications delivered within seconds of a listing becoming available whenever the data source allows. Delayed or batched notifications are not acceptable. Each notification should include: * Vehicle title * Price * Primary thumbnail image * Mileage (when available) * Location * Time listed * Direct link to the listing * Source marketplace Performance Requirements The application should be capable of running continuously with minimal maintenance while maintaining fast detection performance. It must: * Operate reliably 24 hours a day. * Monitor multiple saved searches simultaneously. * Detect a high volume of qualifying vehicles throughout the day without performance degradation. * Deliver every matching listing without unnecessary delay. * Avoid duplicate notifications. * Automatically recover after restarts or temporary interruptions. * Persist all user settings and saved searches between sessions. Deliverables * Complete source code. * Installation and deployment documentation. * Configuration interface for search filters and notification settings. * User documentation covering setup, maintenance, and configuration. * Demonstration showing the application detecting newly published vehicle listings and immediately generating notifications. Acceptance Criteria The project will be considered complete when it satisfies the following: * Detects new qualifying vehicle listings as close to real time as technically possible. * Delivers notifications with minimal latency after listings become available. * Successfully identifies and notifies on multiple new vehicle listings each day. * Never sends duplicate notifications for the same listing. * Runs continuously for at least 24 hours without crashing. * Automatically resumes monitoring after restart. * Saves all configuration and search preferences between sessions. * Provides a reliable, responsive user experience focused on immediate notification of newly listed vehicles.
