tl;drAfter 14 years in construction tech, Lea & Jonas are building the intelligence layer for the construction industryThe largest construction enterprises in Europe — with a combined project volume of over €30bn annually — rely on Kuro every day to automate workflows and make faster, better decisionsConstruction has the most complex, unstructured data you can throw at an LLM — PDFs, drawings, 3D models, images, calculations. At Kuro you can tackle the hardest applied AI problems everyday.About usLea and Jonas scaled two of Europe's leading construction tech companies - Capmo and alcemy - and saw firsthand the challenges holding the industry back. Now they're tackling the root cause: the 50% of construction work still lost to manual data handling.Kuro is the the intelligent project data system for construction. We're reimagining how construction professionals get work done and make decisions by leveraging AI to augment back-office workflows and make core data accessible. After one year on the market leading construction enterprises with a combined construction volume >30 billion annually use Kuro everyday to automate workflows and make faster, better decisions. We are 16 people based in Berlin. You will join a group of ex-technical founders and builders that are ambitious and kind.Learn more: Join Kuro - BerlinThe OpportunityYou will build and own customer-facing features end-to-end — and alongside that, work with the team on the data platform they stand on: ingestion pipelines, the construction ontology and the project graph. Each customer project consists of 300 - 3,000 files: PDFs, construction drawings, scans, 3D models. Performant ingestion and a well-structured graph are the foundation for everything we are building from accuracy to ROI and user experience. What You'll DoBuild and own end-to-end featuresDesigning and implementing new features to solve a specific user problem such as file navigation or document versioningFrom concept, to db schema to UI - own the full development lifecycle of customer-facing featuresManage our web application & APIsMaintain and improve our web application's security and performance; build out existing and new featuresWork on the construction ontology & project graphHelp model and evolve canonical entities of our customersContribute to entity resolution across sources: recognizing the same requirement, position or price across BoQs, contracts, drawings and bidsBuild features so answers are evidence-linked and auditable, and decisions flow back into the graphContribute to scalable data pipelines & integrationsExtend our multi-modal ingestion of unstructured documents: PDFs, scans, drawings, 3D models. Orchestrated and cost-efficient at scaleBuild read/write integrations with customer systems (document management, ERP/AVA), so workflows complete work end-to-endHelp build the abstraction layers that turn use cases into a platformContribute to the workflow harness, decision-trace standard and eval tooling so a new use case ships in ~1 monthBuild reusable human review & approval surfaces where trust in AI output is earnedProjects you would be involved inPast projectsProject & document versioning guaranteeing data lineage in construction projectsGerman tokenizer for construction-specific searchDocument pipeline ingesting 10,000s of PDFs per dayNative BIM/DWG file support: ingesting and processing 3D modelsSwapped the search engine under production load (Meilisearch → Turbopuffer) to unblock pipeline throughput and cut query latencyDocument chunk highlighting in the PDF viewer and global document search via Fastify APICurrent projectsDesign the ontology v1 + graph schema: core construction entities, evidence links, per-customer extension modelDevelop systems to classify and organize project folders of 10,000+ filesOptimize queuing, logging and pipeline orchestration to process large document volumesTemplatize a workflow built for one use case so it deploys to the next as configuration, not codeCurrent Tech StackIt is still day 0 for Kuro.
