We are looking for an experienced GIS mapping specialist with demonstrated experience in Australian bushfire vegetation classification to assist with a long-term project. This is long-term part-time project. This is not a general GIS role. You must have previous experience interpreting Australian vegetation mapping and bushfire planning requirements. Responsibilities Classify vegetation for bushfire assessments Produce accurate GIS maps and site plans Interpret aerial imagery and cadastral boundaries Digitise vegetation polygons Apply Australian bushfire vegetation classifications Work with government mapping datasets and aerial photography Deliver high-quality GIS outputs suitable for professional reports Essential Requirements Proven experience with Australian bushfire vegetation classification Strong experience using ArcGIS Pro and/or QGIS Experience working with Australian spatial datasets Ability to accurately interpret aerial imagery Understanding of bushfire planning principles Experience creating professional GIS maps and layouts Excellent attention to detail Strong written English Highly Regarded Experience with BAL assessments Knowledge of AS 3959 Experience with state bushfire mapping (WA, NSW, VIC, QLD etc.) Experience using LiDAR, DEMs and contour data Python or GIS automation experience To Apply Please include: Your GIS experience.
