Google Maps Drawing & Editing Infrastructure Needed

Descripción de la oferta
I need an experienced JavaScript / Google Maps API developer to lay down the core code for an in-browser map editor that feels closer to an AutoCAD workflow than the usual “drop a pin” tool. The focus is on creating a rock-solid, extensible foundation that my team and I can iterate on later. What the first milestone must already do • Let the user draw and subsequently edit lines, polygons and free-form shapes on top of a standard Google Map. • Offer intuitive handles and panels so each object’s colour, stroke/fill size and rotation can be changed without diving into code. • Allow text labels to be attached to any shape and edited in-place. • Support smooth interactions: select one or multiple objects, move them around, tweak vertices, and delete when necessary—all with undo/redo hooks ready for future wiring. • Present a clean, responsive UI (React or vanilla JS—your call) that hides Google Maps’ default clutter and brings the drawing tools to the foreground. Beyond that core, everything should be written in a modular, well-documented way so I can later plug in snapping, layer controls, CSV/KML import, etc. Feel free to propose smarter UX patterns if they shorten the learning curve; I’m open to ideas. Code quality, clarity and maintainability will outweigh the number of bells and whistles. If you’re based in the United States that’s a plus, as it simplifies meeting times, but the main criterion is demonstrable expertise with Google Maps overlays, event handling and modern front-end practices. When you reply, point me to a live demo or repo that proves you’ve built—or at least deeply modified—a comparable canvas, drawing or map editing interface.
