eLearning Course Build — Health & Safety Certification Module Company: Thistlewood Training Group — an independent vocational training provider delivering certification courses to construction, facilities management, and warehousing clients. We run around 200 in-person sessions a year and are moving part of our catalogue online. Project Overview We're converting our most-requested classroom course — a one-day site health and safety induction — into a self-paced online module. The content already exists as a trainer deck, a workbook, and a written assessment. We need someone to turn that material into a properly designed eLearning course that holds attention and stands up to audit, then get it running correctly in our LMS. This is a conversion project, not a content-creation project. Our subject matter expert owns the accuracy of the material. What we need from you is instructional design, build quality, and a course that learners don't click through on autopilot. Scope of Work / Deliverables 1. Instructional design 1.1. Review the existing trainer deck, workbook, and assessment 1.2. Produce a storyboard mapping the material into 6–8 lessons, roughly 90 minutes total learner time 1.3. Define learning objectives per lesson, aligned to the certification criteria we'll provide 1.4. Recommend where to cut, condense, or restructure — the classroom version has filler that won't survive self-paced delivery 1.5. Storyboard signed off by us before any build work begins 2. Course build 2.1. Built in Articulate Rise or Storyline — tell us which you'd recommend and why 2.2. On-brand styling using our brand kit 2.3. Minimum 12 interactive elements across the course: knowledge checks, drag-and-drop, scenario branching, hotspot images 2.4. At least two scenario-based decision exercises using realistic site situations (we'll supply the scenarios) 2.5. Narration synced to on-screen content — we'll provide recorded audio, you handle timing and captions 2.6. Fully responsive: must work on desktop, tablet, and mobile, since a lot of learners complete these on phones 3. Assessment 3.1. Build the final assessment as 25 questions drawn from a pool of 40 3.2. Randomised question order, 80% pass mark, two retake attempts 3.3. Feedback shown per question after submission 3.4. Certificate of completion issued automatically on pass 4. Accessibility 4.1. WCAG 2.1 AA compliance 4.2. Closed captions on all narrated content 4.3. Keyboard navigable throughout 4.4. Colour contrast and alt text checked and documented 5. LMS setup and handover 5.1. Export as SCORM 1.2 and xAPI packages 5.2. Upload, configure, and test in our LMS (Moodle — we'll provide admin access) 5.3. Confirm completion tracking, scoring, and certificate issue all report correctly 5.4. Source files handed over so we can edit the course ourselves later 5.5. Short written guide covering how to update text, swap images, and re-publish What We Provide Trainer deck (94 slides), learner workbook, and current written assessment Certification criteria the course must map to Brand kit: logo, colours, fonts, and stock imagery licence Recorded narration audio, professionally voiced Our subject matter expert, available for two review calls and email questions within one working day Moodle admin access and a test learner account Requirements Portfolio of completed eLearning modules — please share links or a demo, not just a description Solid Articulate experience (Rise, Storyline, or both) with examples we can look at Genuine instructional design ability, not just software operation — we want to see that you've made structural decisions, not just prettied up someone's slides Practical experience publishing SCORM packages into an LMS and troubleshooting when tracking breaks Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA in an eLearning context Compliance or workplace training experience is a plus, though not essential Timeline 5–6 weeks from kickoff Milestone 1 — storyboard approved (week 2) Milestone 2 — first two lessons built for review (week 3) Milestone 3 — full course built and assessment complete (week 5) Milestone 4 — accessibility check, LMS testing, handover (week 6) We review at each milestone and will turn feedback around within three working days Budget Fixed price, $1,500–$3,000 depending on experience and approach Paid across the four milestones listed above One round of revisions included per milestone Please also quote a rate for converting further courses — we have four more in the catalogue and would prefer to keep the same person
