In-House Inventory System Development

I’m putting together a compact web-based inventory system that will live on our own server and keep our daily stock situation crystal-clear. The core job is to build a clean UI and solid back-end that lets us track inventory levels in real time while giving three distinct roles—Admin, Staff and Supplier—the exact access they need. Here’s what matters most to me: • Accurate inventory level tracking with fast item search and filter tools • Role-based dashboards so Admin can see everything, Staff can handle day-to-day updates, and Suppliers can view only their relevant SKUs • Automated alerts (email or in-app) when stock hits custom thresholds or when incoming deliveries are overdue • An inventory forecasting module that projects stock run-out dates based on past movement, helping us plan re-orders I’d like the app responsive so it works on desktop and tablet, and I’m open to popular stacks—Laravel, Django, Node, or another framework you’re comfortable with—as long as setup stays lightweight and maintainable. Design should be straightforward: clean tables, clear color cues for low stock, and an intuitive flow that lets non-technical staff update quantities without a learning curve. Deliverables 1. Full source code in a private repo 2. Working web application deployed on our test server 3. Brief user guide and hand-off session I’ll be available daily to answer questions and review progress, and I’m happy to break the work into milestones so we can test each module (tracking, alerts, forecasting) as it’s finished. Let me know your preferred tech stack and any similar projects you’ve tackled—then let’s get started.
