# Market Research Analyst (Freelance) ## Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented freelance researcher to assist with a structured market research project involving companies within a specialized industrial sector. The work consists of collecting publicly available information from company websites, product catalogs, technical documents, trade publications, videos, and other reliable sources, then organizing the findings into a structured spreadsheet. This is a research and data-entry role requiring accuracy, consistency, and excellent attention to detail. ## Responsibilities * Research assigned companies using public sources. * Identify products, services, and technical capabilities. * Classify findings using a predefined taxonomy. * Record supporting evidence and source references for every entry. * Clearly distinguish verified information from assumptions or unknowns. * Follow detailed written research guidelines. * Maintain consistent formatting throughout the spreadsheet. ## Requirements * Excellent internet research skills. * Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail. * Advanced Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets experience. * Ability to interpret technical and industrial information. * Excellent written English. * Reliable communication and ability to meet deadlines. ## Preferred Qualifications * Experience performing market research or competitive intelligence. * Engineering, manufacturing, construction, industrial, or technical background. * Familiarity with reading product catalogs and technical documentation. ## Project Structure * Initial paid trial: Research 2–3 companies. * Successful candidates may receive additional assignments. * Work will be divided into multiple independent batches. ## Deliverables For each assigned company: * Complete capability classifications. * Complete product/service classifications. * Supporting evidence with source links. * Notes identifying any uncertain or conflicting information. ## Important Notes * All research must be based exclusively on publicly available information. * Accuracy is significantly more important than speed. * All work produced becomes the exclusive property of the client. * A confidentiality agreement (NDA) is required before project materials are provided.
