I’m building a private online space where generations of my family can explore our history together. The site needs to feel classic and traditional in its styling yet surprise visitors with modern touches—a perfect blend that invites storytelling, reflection, and discovery. Here’s the heart of the project: • Integrate our existing GEDCOM file so relatives can trace lineage through an intuitive, zoomable family tree. • Let visitors walk through key moments via interactive timeline events. • Give every logged-in family member a simple way to upload photographs, write memories, and attach documents directly to people or dates. • Keep everything secure behind password-protected membership, with user roles so content can be moderated before it goes live. • Showcase photographs and high-quality images throughout the design to create an emotionally rich atmosphere. • Ensure the overall layout is responsive and works beautifully on phones, tablets, and desktops. I’m after a “wow” factor: smooth animations, subtle transitions, and a user experience that feels handcrafted rather than template-driven. The back-end can be WordPress, Craft, Laravel, or another framework you prefer—just let me know how you’ll deliver the family-tree navigation and content-submission features.
