Project Overview We are seeking a qualified California-licensed Structural Engineer (PE) to prepare a complete set of structural permit documents for a new residential building in Los Gatos, CA. Architectural plans will be provided within 10–14 days. The scope includes detailed foundation, framing, and roof plans, fully coordinated with the architectural set, compliant with California Building Code (CBC), local amendments, seismic requirements, and Los Gatos/Santa Clara County standards. Scope of Work Develop stamped structural engineering calculations and drawings for: Foundation (including any geotech coordination if needed) Framing (floor/wall/roof systems) Roof structure Full permit-ready package with all necessary details, notes, and schedules. Respond to plan check comments from the Los Gatos Building Department. Provide construction support and sign-off during field inspections as required for permit closure. Requirements Must be a currently licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California (Civil or Structural Engineering). Provide license number and proof of good standing. Demonstrated experience preparing structural plans for residential new construction or major additions in California (Bay Area preferred). Proficiency with structural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, SAP2000, or equivalent) and ability to interpret/coordinate with architectural drawings. Strong knowledge of California Residential Code, seismic design, and local jurisdiction requirements. Prior experience working with the Los Gatos or Santa Clara County Building Department is a strong plus. Ability to deliver high-quality, code-compliant documents on schedule. Provide a portfolio of similar residential projects (with before/after or sample sheets) and relevant certifications/references. If Not California-Licensed Out-of-state engineers may submit a quote, but it must explicitly include the additional cost of engaging a California-licensed PE for review, stamping, and sign-off responsibility.
