I am looking for an experienced fashion technical designer to translate a collection of loosely developed children’s casualwear concepts into complete, factory-ready tech packs. The styles currently exist as sketches, reference images and design ideas. They now need to be developed into technically accurate documents that a manufacturer can use to create samples with minimal clarification. This project is for a premium children’s clothing collection for ages 4–10, so experience in childrenswear, casualwear and premium retail production is strongly preferred. Scope of work You will develop each style from the initial concept through to a complete production-ready tech pack, using Adobe Illustrator, Excel or professional tech-pack software. You will also be expected to use your technical and retail experience to: * recommend appropriate construction methods; * identify potential sampling or production issues; * ensure that proportions and fit remain consistent across the size range; * suggest practical solutions where a design may be difficult or unnecessarily expensive to manufacture; * retain the intended premium appearance while keeping the garments comfortable, durable and suitable for children. Each completed tech pack must include * Detailed front, back and internal technical flats * Close-up construction drawings where required * Annotated seam, stitch, pocket, cuff, collar, placket and trim call-outs * Fabric specifications, including composition, structure, weight or GSM and required finishes * Trim and component specifications * Complete colour specifications using Pantone TCX, Pantone C or an agreed equivalent system * Base-size measurement specification * Fully graded measurement chart for ages 4–10 * Measurements provided in both centimetres and inches * Clearly stated measurement tolerances * Bill of materials * Stitch and seam specification * Label placement and label-content instructions * Care-label requirements * Packaging and folding instructions * Print, appliqué or embroidery artwork and placement guides * Artwork dimensions and distance from key garment reference points * Notes required for sampling, finishing and quality control * Revision history and final approval status A tech pack will be considered complete only when a competent factory can create an accurate first sample without needing repeated clarification. Deliverables For every approved style, I will require: * Editable Adobe Illustrator or equivalent source file * Editable Excel measurement and BOM files * Factory-ready PDF tech pack * Separate print or embroidery artwork files where applicable * Final revised file following sampling or manufacturer feedback All source files and intellectual-property rights must be transferred to me upon payment. Information I will provide Once the project begins, I will share: * rough sketches and design references; * collection lookbook; * mood boards; * colour palette; * fabric direction; * size range; * fit references; * branding and label requirements; * print and embroidery concepts; * packaging direction. Project process I would like to work through clear milestones: 1. Initial review and technical feasibility feedback 2. First tech-pack draft 3. Review and revisions 4. Final factory-ready files 5.
