I need a complete examination system that runs entirely over our local Windows network, so students can sit an “online” test without any internet connection. The solution must let each workstation connect to a central server, pull the exam, and push results back immediately. Key capabilities • Randomized question order so no two students see the same sequence • Per-student time tracking with an automatic lock-out when the clock hits zero • Automated grading that releases scores the moment an exam is submitted Question formats to support • Multiple choice • Short answer • Essay Administrators have to be able to build question banks, schedule exams, watch real-time progress, and export detailed results. A simple, distraction-free candidate interface and robust session recovery (in case of brief network glitches or power blips) are also essential. Deliverables 1. Server and client executables ready for Windows installation 2. Source code with clear comments 3. Database schema and setup script 4. Step-by-step installation & user guides 5. Final test run on our LAN proving all features work as specified Acceptance criteria • The system operates with at least 30 simultaneous clients on a typical classroom LAN without lag. • All three question types render correctly and are graded/stored. • Randomisation, timing, and auto-grading functions match the specification above. • A complete results report exports to CSV or Excel. Feel free to choose whatever tech stack you prefer (.NET, Java, Electron, etc.) as long as the final package is easy to deploy on standard Windows PCs.
