I need a skilled business research analyst to tell me—based on hard data—whether it makes sense for us to enter the local rental market. Your investigation should focus strictly on our city and surrounding suburbs; at this stage I’m not interested in regional or international comparisons unless they provide critical context. Here’s what I expect from the engagement: • Market overview: current size, growth rate, and seasonal variations in the rental sector. • Competitive landscape: key players, their positioning, pricing models, occupancy rates, and any recent moves that could affect a new entrant. • Customer insights: who is renting, what they value most, pain-points they voice online or in surveys, and how unmet needs translate into opportunities. • Regulatory and cost analysis: permits, zoning, taxes, compliance hurdles, and estimated start-up versus ongoing costs. • Risk assessment and go/no-go recommendation: a clear, evidence-backed conclusion supported by SWOT and Porter’s Five Forces or an equivalent framework. Present your findings in a concise report (PDF) plus the underlying spreadsheet or dashboard so I can adjust assumptions later. Cite all sources. Accuracy and clarity are far more important to me than page count.
