I need a clean, well-structured SVG that separates every machining action into its own layer so I can send the file straight to my laser cutter. The design has to work equally well on both metal and wood, so kerf allowance, bridge placement, and any engraving fills must respect the different burn characteristics of each material. Here is what will make the file usable for me: • Distinct layers clearly named for outer cut, inner cut, scoring / engraving, and any decorative fills • All paths closed, no double lines, and no self-intersections • Color coding that matches typical laser software defaults (e.g., red for cut, blue for score) • A single origin point so the file zeroes consistently on my machine • Delivered as an unlocked .svg plus an exported .dxf backup Once I import the file into LightBurn and run a test pass on 1 mm mild steel and 3 mm birch ply, I should be able to toggle layers on and off without any manual cleanup. If that happens on the first try, the job is done.
