I am an independent musician seeking an experienced video editor to complete and enhance a music video for my original composition, "Minneapolis." I have already created a substantially complete video sketch using publicly available footage related to events that occurred in Minneapolis/St. Paul during January and February 2026, including Operation Metro Surge and related demonstrations and protests. The selected freelancer will: 1. Fill several remaining gaps in the existing edit using legally obtainable public-source footage. 2. Identify and recommend stronger replacement clips where appropriate to improve pacing, emotional impact, and storytelling. 3. Create a polished, professional final edit with effective transitions, color correction, motion effects, text treatments (if appropriate), and overall visual consistency. 4. Resolve formatting issues, borders, sizing inconsistencies, aspect ratios, and optimize the final video for YouTube, Facebook, and other social-media platforms. 5. Provide creative recommendations that improve the overall quality and impact of the project. Required Experience: • Music video editing • Documentary-style editing • Professional use of Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar software • Experience working with independently released music Preferred Experience: • Work with nationally distributed or signed recording artists • News, documentary, or social-issue video projects • Strong storytelling and archival-footage editing skills Please Include in Your Proposal: • Links to 3–5 music videos you have edited • Links to any documentary or news-style editing projects • Your approach to sourcing and verifying public-use footage • Estimated turnaround time • Fixed-price quote Important: This project involves politically sensitive subject matter.
