I need an engineer who can take me from concept to working prototype on a precision electromagnetic sensing instrument aimed squarely at industrial non-destructive testing and material verification. The core job is to design a sensor that reads electrical conductivity with high accuracy on metallic parts, while also giving me phase-shift and signal-amplitude data that I can use for deeper analysis. My ideal workflow looks like this: we agree on the excitation frequency range, coil geometry, and signal-conditioning chain; you model and build the probe; you develop the embedded firmware and a simple desktop interface so I can visualise raw and processed readings in real time. Throughout, please keep calibration and repeatability in mind—stable baselines and traceable test procedures are essential for NDT applications. Deliverables: • Complete schematics, PCB layout, and mechanical drawings for the probe • Firmware source code and compiled binaries ready to flash • Desktop (or cross-platform) application for live data display and logging • A fully functioning prototype, bench-tested on representative metal coupons with documented accuracy, phase-shift, and amplitude plots • User and service documentation detailed enough for a small production run Acceptance criteria will be met once the prototype demonstrates repeatable conductivity measurements on at least three different metal alloys within the agreed tolerance band, and all design files are handed over in editable formats.
