Odoo 19 Go-Live and Microsoft Dynamics GP Migration Expert We are a Canadian manufacturing company seeking a senior Odoo consultant to lead the final migration and go-live process from Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 to Odoo 19. Our live Odoo company is already configured, and our business processes have been tested in a staging environment. We are not looking for a full Odoo implementation. We need an experienced financial and operational migration specialist to plan, validate, and execute the final cutover. The migration must be completed over a weekend so that we can begin operating in Odoo on Monday with minimal interruption, duplicate entry, or reconciliation issues. Scope of Work: 1. Migration Assessment and Cutover Planning Review our existing Microsoft Dynamics GP data and live Odoo 19 configuration. Confirm exactly which records, balances, and open transactions must be migrated. Identify data cleanup, mapping, configuration, and reconciliation requirements. Develop a detailed weekend cutover plan, including responsibilities, timing, dependencies, validation procedures, rollback considerations, and Monday-morning verification. Recommend and document the appropriate cutoff procedures for sales, purchasing, inventory, banking, and accounting. 2. Customer and Vendor Migration Validate and clean customer and vendor master records where required. Import or verify customer and vendor records in Odoo. Import outstanding customer invoices, credit notes, payments, and other open receivable transactions. Import outstanding vendor bills, credits, payments, and other open payable transactions. Ensure customer and vendor opening balances reconcile to the applicable general-ledger control accounts. 3. Inventory Migration Validate product records, units of measure, costs & quantities. Import final opening inventory quantities as of the agreed cutoff. Confirm inventory costing and valuation methodology. Reconcile the imported inventory valuation to the general ledger. Investigate and resolve material discrepancies before go-live. 4. Financial Cutover Determine the appropriate method for bringing financial information into Odoo, including opening trial-balance amounts and any required open transactions. Import and validate opening general-ledger balances. Confirm that accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, cash, and other subsidiary records reconcile to the general ledger. Verify retained earnings and other balance-sheet accounts. Provide a final post-migration trial balance and reconciliation package. 5. Banking and Reconciliation Establish the correct opening balances for our Canadian-dollar and US-dollar bank accounts. Coordinate the cutover with our existing live RBC bank connections in Odoo. Prevent duplicate or missing bank transactions during the transition. Confirm that Odoo bank balances and reconciliations agree with the applicable general-ledger accounts and bank records. 6. Go-Live Support Be available during the weekend migration and cutover. Perform final migration validation before the system is released for production use. Provide support during the first business days following go-live. Resolve migration-related accounting, inventory, and transactional discrepancies promptly. Train key employees on any cutover-specific procedures or corrections. Required Experience Applicants must have: Significant hands-on experience with Odoo Accounting, Inventory, Sales, Purchase, and Manufacturing. Proven experience executing ERP financial cutovers and go-lives. Strong accounting knowledge, including general-ledger control accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory valuation, bank reconciliation, foreign-currency balances, and opening entries. Experience migrating data from Microsoft Dynamics GP or a comparable accounting and ERP system. Experience reconciling imported subsidiary records to the general ledger. Strong data extraction, cleanup, transformation, mapping, import, and validation skills. The ability to work directly with the owner who has good all around knowledge in all aspects involved. Availability to support a scheduled weekend cutover. Experience with Canadian accounting, Canadian and US banking, manufacturing, and multi-currency transactions is strongly preferred. Proposal Requirements Please include: The Odoo versions with which you have direct implementation and migration experience. The number of financial cutovers or ERP go-lives you have personally led. Details of any Microsoft Dynamics GP-to-Odoo migration experience. Examples involving inventory valuation and reconciliation to the general ledger. Your recommended approach for migrating open accounts-receivable and accounts-payable transactions. Your recommended approach for inventory quantities, valuation, and general-ledger reconciliation. Your availability for a weekend cutover and immediate post-go-live support. Two client references for comparable ERP migration or go-live projects. Whether you will personally perform the work or assign portions to other team members. The selected consultant will initially complete a paid migration assessment and detailed cutover plan. Subject to successful completion of that phase, the consultant will then be engaged to execute the migration and support the go-live.
