I need a small, well-structured addon for the Odoo Inventory module that applies a fixed, percentage-based discount each time a product with a qualifying serial number appears in an order. The live system is on “17. 18. 19”, so the code must stay clean, depend only on standard Odoo APIs, and migrate smoothly as we move through these versions. Key compatibility point: everything has to work seamlessly inside our existing Order processing flow—no extra clicks, no broken stock moves, and no surprises on invoices or delivery slips. The discount percentage will be defined in a simple model or field that can be updated by us later; once a matching serial is detected, the percentage should be applied automatically while preserving normal tax and subtotal calculations. Deliverables • A standalone, installable module written in Python that hooks into Odoo Inventory and Sales using pure Odoo ORM. • Clear in-code comments plus a brief README outlining models, methods, and upgrade notes. • Unit or demo tests that show the module behaving correctly when products with and without the target serial numbers are processed in an order. Acceptance criteria • Create an order, add a product tied to a listed serial number, confirm it, and see the correct discount line applied automatically. • Order confirmation, delivery, invoicing, and stock valuation continue to post exactly as they do in vanilla Odoo. • No warnings or traceback errors in the log on Odoo 17; code lint-clean so it can be ported forward.
