I’m putting together a series of outdoor learning journeys for a group of 11- to 15-year-old students and need an experienced instructor to guide them confidently through both mountain and plain settings. Your role will be to design and lead day-long or multi-day programs that blend education, adventure, and age-appropriate fun. You’ll work with me on: • Selecting well-known destinations that illustrate geography, ecology, and local culture. • Building a clear itinerary for each trip, including safety briefings, route plans, and contingency options. • Demonstrating and supervising the use of basic kit—tents, stoves, ropes, compasses, and first-aid supplies—so students gain hands-on competence. • Running low-impact games and problem-solving activities that encourage teamwork and resilience. I have no fixed deadline, so we can agree on dates that fit the school calendar and your availability. If you are certified in wilderness first aid, mountaineering, or child safeguarding, mention it up front—it will strengthen your proposal. Deliverables I’ll look for: 1. A draft program with objectives, equipment list, risk assessment, and activity outline for each location. 2. On-site leadership during each trip, maintaining safety and engagement. 3. A short post-trip reflection or feedback form to capture student learning outcomes. If you know the mountains and plains, speak the language of young teens, and can turn the outdoors into an inspiring classroom, I’d love to hear how you’d run these adventures.
