The project involves modifying an existing 2-layer automotive printed circuit board (PCB) with approximate dimensions of 100 mm × 80 mm (to be confirmed after reviewing the source files). The board contains approximately 80 to 120 electronic components, including power MOSFETs, passive components, connectors, protection devices, and a microcontroller-based control circuit. The objective is to implement a series of hardware improvements while preserving the overall architecture and functionality of the existing design. The required modifications include updating the schematic to incorporate new passive components and revised values, modifying the power switching circuitry, replacing selected components, improving PCB routing in the affected areas, adjusting copper pours and clearances, and optimizing the layout to improve electrical and thermal performance. The work should be limited to the impacted sections of the PCB, minimizing unnecessary changes to the existing design while ensuring compliance with design rules and manufacturing requirements.
