I have a catalogue of roughly 25 pharmaceutical companies, supplied as Excel sheets and individual PDFs, and I need a lightweight Android application that lets users type a query and instantly locate matching terms inside each product’s description. The project covers everything from converting the source files into a searchable local database through to publishing the finished APK on the Google Play Store under my developer account. Key requirements • Data import: read the Excel rows and PDF text, normalise them, and store them locally or on google sheet. • Core feature: free-text search that highlights occurrences inside the full description—not just by name or code. • Simple UI: a single search field, results list, and a detail screen that renders the full description with basic formatting. No heavy design work needed, just clean Material styling. • Play Store release: handle signing, versioning, privacy policy link, and a concise store listing so the app is live within a month. I am happy with Kotlin or Java; feel free to add sensible libraries such as PDFBox, Apache POI, or Firebase Crashlytics for stability tracking if that speeds development. IT SHOULD BE MAINTAINENACE FREE. AS THE LISTS HAS TO BE UPDATED ON MONTHLY BASIS AND CAN BE DONE BY MY OFFICE TEAM EASILY.
