I already have PiSDR pulled from https://github.com/luigifcruz/pisdr-image and running on a Raspberry Pi 4; what I need is a clean, repeatable build that behaves exactly the same every time I power up the board and mini HDMI display. Task 1 – Reliable display boot • Make PiSDR load the desktop and SDR stack automatically on power-on, scaled correctly for the Pi 4 mini monitor with no extra keystrokes or shell commands. Task 2 – Dual-role connectivity • Configure the image so the Pi can lock onto any available open satellite link for down- and uplink (receive and transmit). • At the same time enable the on-board Wi-Fi to rebroadcast that link as a portable hotspot, giving nearby devices internet access through the satellite path. GUI requirement Both satellite comms and hotspot functionality are equally important to me, so the on-device dashboard must expose clear one-touch controls for each. Ease of use beats flashy visuals; a simple, plug-and-play interface on the Pi screen is key. If the solution relies on tools such as GNURadio, OpenWebRX, NetworkManager, or hostapd, please wire them into the GUI so I can toggle or monitor them without dropping to the terminal. Deliverables • Custom PiSDR image (or patch set) that flashes straight to an SD card. • Step-by-step README so I can rebuild or update the image later. • Brief video or screenshots showing the Pi booting to the GUI, acquiring a satellite link, and serving Wi-Fi internet to another device. The project wraps once I can power the Pi 4, watch the screen come alive, join its hotspot from my phone, and browse the web through the live satellite connection—no command line needed.
