Company: Northgate Recruitment — a specialist recruitment agency placing skilled trades and engineering staff with UK manufacturers. We're six months into a weekly interview podcast aimed at hiring managers, and it's become our best lead source. Our current editor is stepping back and we need a replacement. Project Overview The show is a weekly interview format, one host plus one guest, recorded remotely. Raw episodes run 50–70 minutes and need cutting to a tight 35–45 minutes. Recording quality varies considerably — our host has a decent setup, our guests are usually on a laptop mic in a factory office. This is ongoing work, not a one-off. We publish every Tuesday without exception, so reliability matters more to us than anything else in this brief. Scope of Work / Deliverables 1. Audio editing, per episode 1.1. Remove filler, false starts, long pauses, tangents and anything the host flags for cutting 1.2. Noise reduction, de-essing, and removal of background hum, keyboard noise and room echo where possible 1.3. Level and balance both speakers so the guest doesn't sound half the volume of the host 1.4. Master to broadcast standard, -16 LUFS stereo 1.5. Drop in our existing intro, outro and mid-roll music beds 1.6. Insert one sponsor read from supplied audio, placed at a natural break 2. Supporting assets, per episode 2.1. Two audiograms, 45–60 seconds each, vertical format with captions 2.2. Show notes: a short episode summary, five to six bullet takeaways, and timestamped chapter markers 2.3. Full transcript, cleaned up and speaker-labelled 2.4. Three suggested episode title options 3. Publishing 3.1. Upload the finished episode to our hosting platform with metadata, chapters and artwork in place 3.2. Schedule for Tuesday 6am UK time 3.3. Flag anything in the recording that needs the host's attention before publication What We Provide Raw multitrack audio, uploaded to Dropbox each Thursday Existing intro, outro and music beds Sponsor audio and episode artwork template Timestamped notes from the host marking sections to cut Access to our hosting platform A style reference: three past episodes we consider the benchmark Requirements A portfolio of podcast work you've edited — please link to published episodes, not just a description Confident with rescuing poor remote recordings; a lot of our guest audio is imperfect and re-recording is never an option Working knowledge of loudness standards and why -16 LUFS matters Your own software and licences Dependable weekly turnaround: files arrive Thursday, finished episode due Monday midday Clear English for show notes and transcripts, since these go out under our name Timeline & Commitment Ongoing, one episode per week, roughly 45 episodes a year Two-episode paid trial first, at the full rate Long-term arrangement if the trial goes well — our last editor was with us the whole run We ask for a week's notice if you need to skip a cycle, and we'll do the same on holidays Budget Per-episode rate, guide range $60–$120, depending on experience and what you include Please quote for the full package above, and separately for audio editing only, in case we split the work Paid monthly, four episodes at a time Rate reviewed after three months
