Industrial Designer / Product Strategist Needed for Early-Stage Product Direction I am looking for an experienced industrial designer or product strategist to help refine the direction of an early-stage premium home décor product. This is not yet a detailed CAD or mechanical engineering project. I first need an objective review of the product concept, exterior form, imagery, lighting, materials, functionality and overall user experience. The product is intended to use imagery, light and possibly sound or digital elements to evoke memories and emotions. It should feel like a desirable premium interior object, not a conventional photo lamp, digital frame or inexpensive RGB mood light. The current concept uses a cube-like body with replaceable imagery and surrounding light. A newer concept uses a panoramic image across two adjoining faces. However, the cube, panorama, lighting system and overall architecture are not final. I need help evaluating questions such as: • Is a cube genuinely the strongest form for this product? • Should it remain a perfect cube, become a modified cube, combine different forms, or use a completely different shape? • What form would work best as a premium home interior object? • Does a two-face panoramic image strengthen the product? • Is the current balance between panoramic imagery and illuminated surfaces visually appropriate? • Would a single image, panorama, physical cartridge, digital display or hybrid approach create a stronger experience? • Is RGBW lighting appropriate for this product? • If colored lighting is appropriate, should it use a restrained single color, subtle gradients or slow transitions? • Which colors, materials and finishes would appeal broadly while being especially attractive to female home décor customers? • How should the product look when powered OFF as well as when illuminated? I am also open to stronger ideas beyond the current concept, including: • subtle speaker or sound functionality; • voice or audio-based emotional content; • a digital display; • animated content; • other sensory or interactive elements; • or a different product architecture. These features are not mandatory. I do not want unnecessary technology. Any proposed feature should strengthen the emotional value, aesthetics, usability and commercial potential. I am also considering a physical video brochure containing personal videos, photos and messages. The main product and video brochure should feel like parts of one connected emotional experience rather than two unrelated products. For the initial phase, I need: • review of the current specification and renders; • identification of strengths, weaknesses and development risks; • evaluation of the cube, modified cube and alternative forms; • recommendations for imagery, lighting, CMF and functionality; • evaluation of how the main product and video brochure should connect; • one clearly recommended primary direction; • viable alternative directions; • identification of features that should be removed or deprioritized; • a concise written review; • supporting sketches, references or simple concept visuals; • and a consultation call or recorded presentation. I am not looking for someone who will simply approve my current idea. I am looking for someone who can challenge it, improve it and help develop it into a differentiated and commercially compelling product. Please include: • relevant portfolio examples; • your proposed approach; • fixed price and timeline for the initial review; • exact deliverables; • and the number of concepts or alternative directions included. If the initial review is convincing and the collaboration goes well, the project may continue into concept development, industrial design, CAD, prototyping and production preparation.
