Descripción de la oferta
I'm looking for an experienced QGIS contractor to build a structured, handover-ready QGIS project focused on Australian rail infrastructure and commercial overlays. ABOUT THE PROJECT This is an internal business intelligence tool, not a public-facing application. I work in business development in the Australian rail sector and want a well-built QGIS project I can maintain and extend myself after handover. All base data is public. Commercial overlay data will be supplied by me as Excel/CSV. SCOPE Build a QGIS project with a GeoPackage backend. Ingest and clean public rail network data covering the major Australian network operators (ARTC, Queensland Rail, Aurizon, V/Line, Metro Trains Melbourne). Likely sources include the Digital Atlas of Australia, OpenStreetMap / OpenRailwayMap, and state spatial portals. Set up a clear layer structure for: rail network, gauge type, network owner/operator, intermodal terminals, ports, major mines, state and LGA boundaries. Build a structured overlay template so I can load and update commercial and asset data from CSV/Excel. Fields will include asset type, supplier, install year and projected renewal year, mapped against network sections. Apply consistent, professional symbology and deliver a reusable style library. Configure a QGIS print layout template suitable for inclusion in proposals and briefings. Light Python/PyQGIS scripting for repeatable CSV imports. Nice to have, not essential for v1. DELIVERABLES QGIS project file (.qgz) GeoPackage (.gpkg) containing all layers Documented layer structure and naming conventions Style library (.qml or .xml) Print layout template Short written user guide for updating and adding data One recorded handover session (Teams or Zoom, approx 1 to 2 hours) CONSTRAINTS Must be QGIS-native. No ArcGIS dependencies, no proprietary platforms, no cloud hosting. All files must remain fully editable and owned by me after handover. Open-source stack only. ABOUT YOU Strong QGIS experience. Please share examples. Comfortable working with messy CSV/Excel inputs. Bonus: experience with infrastructure, transport, mining or utilities data. Independent contractor preferred over agencies. TO RESPOND Please include the following. Generic or copy-paste bids will not be considered. A short note on your relevant QGIS experience. One or two examples of similar work, with screenshots or links. I am specifically interested in seeing how you structure and organise a project, not just the finished map. Your estimate of hours and a fixed-price quote for the scope above. Your timezone and availability over the next 4 to 6 weeks. Start your response with the word SLEEPER so I know you have read the brief. I will shortlist two or three contractors for a short introductory call before awarding. Thanks.
