I’m looking for an artist who can paint a realistic, cinematic-quality cover for my upcoming mystery novel. The image needs to pull readers in at first glance, hinting at secrets and unanswered questions rather than broadcasting the whole plot. Think moody lighting, subtle visual clues, and just enough tension to feel intriguing and mysterious without tipping into outright horror. The key points: • Style: grounded realism—true-to-life proportions and textures, with room for atmospheric touches that heighten suspense. • Genre cues: traditional mystery elements are welcome (an isolated house at dusk, a shadowed figure, misty streets, etc.) as long as they feel fresh and not cliché. • Mood: quiet tension, a sense that something important is hidden just out of sight. No gore or overt violence. Deliverables I’ll need at project hand-off: 1. Print-ready front cover at 300 dpi (flat PDF and layered PSD or TIFF) sized for a standard 6 × 9-inch paperback. 2. A version cropped for Kindle/e-book thumbnails. 3. The editable source file with all layers intact so my layout designer can adjust spine and back-cover text later.
