I currently run a FLIR MPX DVR (model M3104ES) with four analogue cameras that I can only watch by plugging a monitor directly into the recorder. I’d like setup in two distinct ways: 1. Enable reliable remote access so I can log in from any laptop on my home network and from my phone when I’m away, both live view and the ability to play back stored footage. 2. Add additional new IP cameras and manage everything through one piece of central software running on a separate computer. Storage of recordings may be on different places but management of cameras and replay centrally with one software The central application has to provide these three functions: • Live feed viewing for all DVR connected and IP camera • Recording and playback management across the whole system • Motion-detection alerts (push or email) I’m open to whichever tools you recommend—Blue Iris, Milestone, ZoneMinder, or any other (FLIR’s own utilities are not available)—as long as they meet the goals above and work smoothly with the existing FLIR hardware. The job ends when I can: • View and scrub recordings from phone and laptop (inside or outside the network). • See all new IP cameras alongside the original four via the chosen software. • Receive motion alerts and confirm they trigger correctly. • Follow clear, written steps so I can add future cameras myself. If cabling, port-forwarding, VPN or DDNS tweaks are required, please include them in your plan.
