Football Match Video Analyst – Remote Freelance Position Project Description We are an amateur football club in the Netherlands looking for a reliable freelance football analyst to support our coaching staff with video analysis of matches. Our matches are recorded using the Veo camera system. The analyst will receive access to the match recordings through the Veo platform. For each match, our head coach will provide specific questions, topics or situations that need to be analysed. This is intended to become an ongoing collaboration throughout the football season. Main Responsibilities The freelancer will: Watch and analyse full match recordings in Veo. Complete specific analysis assignments provided by our head coach. Identify and tag relevant match situations. Create clips or playlists of important moments. Provide clear written observations and conclusions. Analyse both our own team and, when requested, the opposition. Deliver the analysis within the agreed deadline. Communicate in clear written English. Examples of analysis assignments may include: Team organisation in possession and out of possession. Build-up play from the goalkeeper and defensive line. Pressing and counter-pressing. Defensive organisation and compactness. Transitions after winning or losing possession. Creating and defending goal-scoring opportunities. Set pieces. Individual player actions. Recurring tactical patterns. Analysis of a specific position, player or part of the match. Deliverables Depending on the assignment, the expected deliverables may include: Tagged match events in Veo. A selection of relevant video clips. A short written match analysis. Answers to the coach’s specific questions. Tactical observations and practical recommendations. A short summary of the most important strengths, weaknesses and improvement points. Reports should be concise, structured and useful for a football coach. We are not looking for a long academic report, but for clear observations that can be used during training sessions and match preparation. Required Experience We are looking for someone who: Has experience analysing football matches. Has a good understanding of football tactics and team organisation. Can recognise tactical patterns and explain them clearly. Is comfortable working independently. Is accurate and reliable. Can meet deadlines. Has good written English skills. Is willing to learn how our coaching staff wants matches to be analysed. Experience with Veo, Hudl, Nacsport, LongoMatch, Sportscode or similar video-analysis software is an advantage, but experience with Veo is not strictly required if you are willing to learn the platform. A coaching qualification, football-analysis qualification or experience working with a football club is preferred. Workload and Timing We normally play one competitive match per week during the football season. The match video and analysis instructions will usually be provided shortly after the match. The analysis should normally be completed within 24 to 48 hours, depending on the assignment. The exact number of hours may vary per match. We will start with a paid trial assignment before discussing a longer-term agreement. Trial Assignment The selected freelancer will first receive one match recording and a specific analysis assignment. For the trial, we may ask you to: Analyse several tactical situations. Select and tag relevant clips. Provide a concise written summary. Explain what went well, what could be improved and which patterns occurred repeatedly. The quality of the observations is more important than the length of the report. Application Requirements Please include the following information in your proposal: Your experience with football coaching or match analysis. The level and type of teams you have previously analysed. Which video-analysis platforms you have used. Whether you have experience with Veo. An example of a previous football-analysis report or anonymised video-analysis project, if available. Your estimated price per analysed match. Your usual turnaround time. Your availability during weekends and the following Monday. About Our Club We are an ambitious amateur football club in the Netherlands, competing at a lower regional level. Although we do not play at professional or semi-professional level, our coaching staff is serious about improving team performance, player development and match preparation. We want to use video analysis in a practical and structured way, adapted to the level of our team. We are therefore looking for an analyst who understands that useful analysis does not need to be overly complex. The observations and recommendations should be clear, realistic and directly applicable during training sessions and matches.
