Our nonprofit’s 501(c) status was automatically revoked after we missed a few annual 990 filings, and I want to bring the organization back into good standing as quickly as possible. My first priority is complete reinstatement with the IRS before we turn to any fundraising initiatives. I have not assembled any of the paperwork yet and need someone who can handle the entire process—from identifying the right path (streamlined retroactive or standard) to preparing every form and supporting schedule. That includes drafting Form 1023 (or 1024, if applicable), compiling reasonable cause statements, organizing past-due 990 returns, and packaging everything exactly as the IRS expects. Once the file is ready, I will take care of the actual submission fee, but you will guide me on payment routing and tracking so we can confirm receipt. Deliverables I will accept as complete: • A fully prepared reinstatement packet in PDF and editable formats • Step-by-step filing instructions with mailing or electronic submission details • A short checklist of follow-up actions once the IRS response arrives After reinstatement, I would like to continue working together on compliant fundraising strategies, but that can be scoped later. For now, expertise in nonprofit tax law, IRS correspondence, and 990 preparation is essential.
