I have to condo a complete structural submittal with the City of San Diego no later than this Wednesday, 12 p.m. The project is straightforward but time-critical: on the ground floor of a 45- to 50-year-old two-story building with an identical unit above I’m removing a section of a load-bearing wall to create a 7 ft opening. My plan is to support the load with two 11-7/8" × 1-3/4" LVL members, one king stud and three jack studs each side. The slab is roughly 3-1/2" thick; the upstairs unit mirrors the one below. What I need from you • A permit-ready PDF plan set stamped (if you’re licensed in California) • Structural calculations that satisfy the current California and San Diego amendments. • Connection details—points of bearing, fasteners, strap or clip schedules, shear transfer, and any blocking requirements. • Footing or slab enhancement recommendations, should the existing 3-1/2" slab prove inadequate. • Any notes or schedules the city typically expects on a plan of this scope. I have no legacy drawings, preliminary calcs, or manufacturer data, so please base everything on field-verify dimensions and code tables. Delivery in a single, clearly named PDF is perfect; printed sets are not required.
