SEO Specialist Request for Shopify Store Optimization We are seeking an experienced SEO specialist to support the refinement and optimization of an established Shopify store with approximately 700 products. The goal of this project is to improve organic search visibility, strengthen product and collection-level content, identify new keyword opportunities, and ensure the site is structured to support long-term search growth. The ideal specialist will be comfortable working with a Shopify-based ecommerce site and collaborating with our web developers as we continue to refine and upgrade the store. This is a niche ecommerce store rather than a standard retail site selling general merchandise such as clothing, home goods, or mass-market products. The selected specialist should be comfortable working with a specialized product catalog where customer education, product terminology, seasonal interest, long-tail search behavior, and category-specific content are important parts of the SEO strategy. Scope of Work We are looking for assistance with the following: SEO Audit Conduct a review of the current Shopify store to identify opportunities and issues related to site structure, indexing, crawlability, page speed, metadata, product and collection content, internal linking, duplicate content, and other SEO factors. Keyword Research Conduct keyword research for our core product categories, individual product types, seasonal search opportunities, and related informational content. This should include both high-intent ecommerce keywords and longer-tail educational or discovery-based search terms. Content Recommendations and Development Review existing product, collection, and supporting website content to identify opportunities for improvement. Recommend and/or create SEO-friendly content that is useful to customers, supports search performance, and fits the voice of the brand. On-Page Optimization Provide guidance on page titles, meta descriptions, headings, URL structure, internal linking, image alt text, product descriptions, collection descriptions, and other on-page SEO elements within Shopify. Technical SEO Support Work with our developers to identify and address technical SEO considerations related to the Shopify store, including site structure, crawlability, page speed, redirects, schema markup, indexing, duplicate content, and other relevant issues. Link Building Strategy Recommend and help execute a realistic link building strategy appropriate for our business, including potential outreach opportunities, partnerships, directory listings, industry resources, content-based link opportunities, and other ethical approaches. Content Planning Develop a practical content strategy to support organic growth, including blog or resource content ideas, seasonal topics, collection-level content, and customer education pieces that connect back to products and categories. Reporting and Prioritization Provide clear recommendations, prioritized action items, and regular reporting on progress. We are especially interested in practical improvements that can be implemented efficiently and measured over time. Expected Deliverables We expect the selected specialist to provide clear, usable deliverables, which may include: • An SEO audit of the current Shopify store • Keyword research for product categories, individual product types, and content opportunities • Content recommendations for product pages, collection pages, and supporting educational content • On-page SEO recommendations, including titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal linking, image alt text, and URL guidance • Technical SEO recommendations to be reviewed and implemented in coordination with our developers • A link building strategy with realistic, ethical opportunities • A prioritized action plan identifying high-impact improvements • Periodic reporting on progress, completed work, and measurable results Collaboration This person will need to coordinate with our developers as the Shopify store is refined and upgraded. We are looking for someone who can clearly communicate SEO requirements, identify potential risks or missed opportunities during the development process, and help ensure that technical and content-related SEO needs are considered before changes are finalized. Desired Experience The ideal candidate should have experience with: • Shopify SEO • Ecommerce keyword research • Product and collection page optimization • Technical SEO audits • Content strategy • Ethical link building • Working collaboratively with developers • Prioritizing recommendations for a site with a large product catalog • Experience with niche or specialty ecommerce businesses where product education, long-tail keywords, and category-specific content are important Applicants should share examples of Shopify SEO projects they have completed, including the type of work performed and any measurable results achieved, such as improved rankings, increased organic traffic, stronger product or collection page performance, or increased sales. Project Structure We are initially seeking assistance with a project-based SEO review and optimization effort. However, there may be an opportunity for ongoing monthly SEO support depending on the results, recommendations, and continued needs of the store. How Success Will Be Measured Success may be measured by improvements such as: • Higher organic search rankings for relevant product and category keywords • Increased organic traffic to product, collection, and informational pages • Improved visibility for seasonal and long-tail search terms • Better indexing and crawlability of key pages • Stronger engagement with product and collection content • Increased ecommerce conversions and sales from organic search traffic Project Goal Our goal is to build a stronger foundation for organic search traffic while improving the usefulness, clarity, and discoverability of the store for customers.
