Project Overview: We run an established e-commerce store on Shopify. We are expanding our business model to allow independent "Distributors" (Vendors) to register, manage their own inventory, create invoices, and collect payments directly. Because Shopify’s native checkout cannot dynamically split payments directly to external bank accounts while routing processing fees to the master company, this project requires a specialist who can integrate Stripe Connect with a multi-vendor architecture (either via a custom app or deeply customizing a marketplace app like Webkul/Marketcube). We need an expert full-stack developer to build this custom Distributor Portal with the following core functional requirements: Key Requirements & Scope of Work: Distributor Registration & Portal Login: A dedicated portal/login area linked from our main Shopify website. Multi-field registration form for Distributors collecting: Name, Email, Phone, Mailing Address, Business Name, and Tax ID / SSN. Centralized SKU Management (Admin Control): The master company must have absolute control over product creation. Distributors cannot create new products; they only manage inventory for assigned SKUs. Product Catalog Setup: Initial setup for seven (7) specific SKUs: Two (2) distributor inventory packages, and five (5) individual consumer product SKUs. Distributor-Initiated Invoicing & Customer Checkout: Distributors must be able to manually create an order/invoice inside their backend portal. System must email a secure payment link to the customer to complete the order. Invoices must automatically calculate local sales tax and real-time shipping costs based on the distributor's fulfillment location. Direct Payout via Stripe Connect (100% Split): Crucial Feature: Customers pay 100% of the product cost, shipping, and tax directly to the Distributor's connected bank account. The transaction must route through Stripe Connect, dynamically deducting only the exact credit card processing fee (e.g., 2.9% + $0.30) to be routed to the master company account. Distributors must have a dashboard to manage payouts/withdrawals. Fulfillment & Shipping Label Printing: Distributors must be able to view their pending customer orders, print shipping labels directly from their backend dashboard, and fulfill orders using their own on-hand inventory. Digital Asset Library: A media library section inside the distributor portal where the master company can upload promotional images and videos for distributors to view and download. Master Admin Oversight: The core company admin dashboard must have full visibility into all orders received, processed, and shipped by all distributors across the network. Sales Tracking & Reporting System: Distributors must be able to view and download their individual sales and tax reports. Company master admin needs access to all individual reports plus a consolidated, full-company financial report. Legal Agreement & E-Signing: A dedicated compliance section in the backend where new distributors can view the company's Policies & Procedures / Distributor Agreement and digitally sign it during onboarding or updates. Scalable Architecture: The code, database, and portal architecture must be modular and clean so we can easily add new features, tiers, and SKUs as our business grows. Technical Skills Required: Strong expertise with the Shopify API (REST/GraphQL), liquid, and custom Shopify app development. Deep knowledge of Stripe Connect (Custom or Express accounts) for complex payment splitting and payout flows. Frontend/Backend development experience (Node.js, Ruby on Rails, PHP, or Python frameworks suitable for Shopify apps). Experience implementing e-signature APIs (e.g., DocuSign, HelloSign) or secure custom signing boxes. Database management and custom reporting dashboard design.
