Siemens PLC Programmer Needed – Helium Plant Support We are looking for an experienced Siemens PLC programmer to provide programming and technical support for an operating helium processing plant. The control system is based on Siemens PLC hardware and is programmed using TIA Portal. The successful freelancer should be comfortable reviewing existing programs, troubleshooting operating issues, making controlled logic changes, and supporting plant personnel remotely. Scope of Work Review and understand the existing Siemens PLC program Troubleshoot PLC logic, communications, instrumentation, and process-control issues Modify ladder logic, function blocks, data blocks, alarms, interlocks, and sequences as required Assist with Siemens HMI programming and troubleshooting when needed Support analog instrumentation, valves, motors, VFDs, compressors, and process equipment Provide remote support during commissioning, shutdowns, startups, or plant operating issues Document all program changes and maintain reliable backups Explain the Siemens program structure and changes to our existing automation personnel Required Experience Strong experience with Siemens S7 PLCs Proficient with Siemens TIA Portal and STEP 7 Experience with S7-1200 or S7-1500 PLCs Strong understanding of OBs, FBs, FCs, data blocks, instance data blocks, and symbolic addressing Experience troubleshooting PROFINET and industrial communications Experience with process plants, oil and gas, gas processing, refrigeration, compressors, or similar industrial facilities Ability to safely support a live operating facility Strong English communication and documentation skills Experience with helium processing, cryogenic systems, gas separation, compressor controls, or Siemens HMI systems would be a major asset. Working Arrangement This will initially be remote, project-based support, with the possibility of ongoing work for the right person. Availability during North American Mountain Time business hours is preferred.
